GONE

Sad is this day, that has come.
All dressed in costumes, to have fun.
Waiting for time, to go out and run.
Houses decorated, to the hilts.
As parents with candy, excited with guilt.
Handing out treats, was fun to see.

From princes, witches, ghosts to kings.
Magically this night, becomes our dreams.
As we watch kids, act out their fantasies.
6-10, what wonderful & exciting way to play.
Oohing & aweing, the costumes kids wore this day.
From 100s & 100s, to none at all this year.
Disappeared, and oh so sad to say.
Halloweens' trick or treat, has gone away.
Decorations sit in my storage, to stay.
Grand parents & parents, are rolling their graves.
To see what happened, to Halloween this way.
