Hi Anikh. I am very sad.
Andy had a shot at the first set but it was not meant to be. I think the story would have been different had he been able to snatch the first set.
nole is just a machine on hard courts. you have to play near perfect to gun him down.
I have a question: what the hell was Lendl doing in the stands if he doesn't have any time for Andy?
You want to know the truth or do you want to stay in lala land, that is the question.
The truth is, Lendl is doing damage control by being present at Andy's matches. After Andy let out the truth, the truth that he's gutted after Lendl's departure, Lendl had to be there to fake show the world that he cares. It's all part of his PR anyway.
I am not mad at Lendl. I just didn't like the fact that he's gone back on his words just when Andy was down. Before back surgery, before Andy won any Slam, he was only one step away from winning his first Slam. So it was easier for Lendl to come forward and 'help' Andy but now after the back surgery, it's a brand new beginning for Andy and I don't think Lendl was convinced he'd be able to do that job.
You can't say Lendl didn't get anything out of it because he did and a lot. He's now one of the most successful coaches out there who has only about a couple of year's worth of experience as a coach and most times, he wasn't even there. Of course he's benefited from And big time; even more so Andy.
But I am actually not liking all these top players hiring old top players to help them out especially at his stage of their career. It just looks more like a desperate attempt. Plus, I don't feel these players make a good coach anyway nor do they make good commentators.
What Andy did, he had to. He had lost enough finals by then to realize that he needed someone who had gone through the same experience, so Lendl being there in the player's box helped Andy to stay motivated. Not all players come with the same problem and not all problems were experienced by Lendl one time or another. If you know what I mean.
