Federer apparently made a couple of excuses himself as well. He went on about the temperature dropping and how it might have affected his back. And that he wasn't able to see as much as he had played only 1 night match so far this year. Forget that he comes with the most experience playing under the light anyway but somehow last night doesn't cut it.
See, I don't like making excuses. I believe that I am not going to win every single time and that sometimes my opponents will just play better than me on some occasions. And those occasions they will be the better players. While there will be other elements too there but they will be there for both players.
Just like Stanley Wawrinka was the better player at the AO final and throughout the tournament - after all, he took both No. 1 and 2 down. Just like Nole was yesterday. Yes, Andy played well and it was very good to see that, but Nole was still a level above him in that particular match.
