I never saw the movie but I have seen this video a few times as you can well imagine.


she is just sensational in every way. the lyrics are profoundly deep in a way but still quite understandable for the western audiences.


they probably would not know what it means to say "come drink from my eyes" but they can figure it out.

over here one would probably say "come and get lost in my eyes"

Yes, it's hard to get to know the true meaning of the lyrics in any other language. You have to either know Hindi or Urdu or Arabic. This is the reason why no biblical book be it the old testament or the Quran should be translated in any other language since the meaning of the biblical term can get totally lost in translation.

Having said that, I've seen really great translation of the great Chaiya Chaiya song that came very close to the original meaning so maybe I can for this one as well.
