Not sure if I want to watch the men's final tomorrow, really. This will be their 40th meeting. It's a bit much if you ask me. Sampras/Agassi met 34 times in their entire career. Quite likely that both Nadal and Nole will be meeting a lot more in the future. It's just that the rest of the players, minus Andy and Federer, are still very weak mentally and can't really make any difference or can't offer anything new other than a few upsets here and there - once in a blue moon. In the 90s, I would live in constant fear of upsets but the decade that followed had nothing of that sort. I am not at all a fan of the idea of the 'big 4'. I loath it in fact. It just does not make the sport tennis a very interesting game. It's predictable and boring. And that's just not my cup of tea.
So now I have the choice to spend the same two+ hours watching a movie or perhaps doing something I've put off for a while. I find their matches quite identical and predictable. But still it is probably a lot better than Federer/Nadal matches.
Clay season will probably be just as much predictable unless Nole or some other player make it more interesting. Quite ironic that Spain hasn't produced another great clay courter yet. It's been missing for a while now.
I have to take a road trip on Monday and tomorrow I am busy here during the day. I don't even know what time the final is taking place yet.
at any rate I will just have to catch it after it is played. we will have it at the global video center here soon enough anyway.
