You know how the Fedtards at Tennis Warehouse make a big deal about Federer beating Sampras in 2001 at Wimbledon and sees it as a milestone not only as the next great thing, but also and more importantly, they conveniently conclude that Federer is not only superior to Sampras but also, the greater player on grass.

They quite comfortably overlook the fact that Federer didn't win Wimbledon that year despite beating an almost retired Sampras. Sampras, on the other hand, not only won his first Slam at age 19 same age as Federer and two years after he turned pro, but he also beat Muster, Lendl, McEnroe and Agassi in succession to win it.

And Sampras won 7 Wimbledon in 8 years and got beaten by another grass courter Richard Kraijcek in 1996; whereas, Federer got beaten by a player who specializes on clay not only at Wimbledon but also, at the AO (twice) and of course, at RG. And it took him 10 years to win 7 Wimbledon. And the grass along with the clay have seen the least competition in this era.

It's a shame that they don't see that Nadal is another great player of all time who's beating Federer left and right since the get go. If he gets owned by Nadal so routinely, I can't imagine how much he would get owned by Sampras. Perhaps not on clay but if these two were to face at RG, rest assured, you wouldn't want to underestimate Sampras' ability and his stubborn attitude of establishing his authority over his main competitor. And yes, Federer would be quite intimidated by Sampras' presence and he'd be half beaten even before entering the court. Agassi had much bigger balls to deal with Sampras I should add because he was a bit of prick and hated Sampras at least at that time.

The problem with today's fans is that, they didn't see much of Sampras or at all. They only know Federer very well and that's not enough to compare the two despite all other odds. Unless you have followed Sampras with the same attitude as Federer, your points are moot. You don't qualify for an argument let alone give any kind of opinion. Sod off now.

And even those who claim that they saw him, they still haven't got a clue because their viewings were selective. It was nothing ardent or intense following. If you don't follow a champion like Sampras with that kind of intensity, you have no clue about his mindset.

You can of course throw the results and stats all you want, but they never give you the true picture or tell you the whole story.
