No, I don't feel the same way. I think the level of play that these two displayed was otherworldly for almost a decade. I can never be bored with excellence. I'm also not adventurous or a risk-taker. I like life calm, soothing, and predictable. I can continually grow in the same spot, because nothing is even stagnant, even friends or mates. You can spend a lifetime with someone and never understand them. I find that just as fascinating.
And that's fine. As I said, I don't expect people to be the same way God forbid. I've never felt strongly about either Federer or Nadal nor have I ever felt that they are otherworldy. As I said to herc that beauty, in the end, lies in the eyes of the beholder. So what's true to you may not be true for me and it isn't. I think it would be very boring if Nole and Andy were to dominate 10 long years especially to those who aren't fans. They can stay as long as they want but I wouldn't want them to dominate the sport.
Yes it's very true that you can spend your lifetime with someone and never understand them but that's not what I was referring to. I was mainly focusing on learning from different people so that we can grow and evolve as human species since it can not possibly come from one person alone. Not understanding someone is a very different thing to me. Even so, personally I feel it would be a great waste of time to spend so much time on someone just to try and understand them. But to each his/her own. People should do what makes them happy the most be it in different ways.
