Hello fellow posters. I am at home right now having dinner with a glass of wine.
Didn't get to see any of Andy's matches so far this week but he's taken out Cilic in straight. I thought, before the match, that this was going to be a test for Cilic and it was. Goran wasn't there to mentally support him and it's first tournament after USO so it's understood that he'd not show the same level as the USO.
Andy, on the other hand, was very keen on playing Cilic and the result speaks volume. I guess he wanted to see where his game was and Cilic felt ideal. Cilic, though, served only 1 Ace as opposed to Andy's 5 so you could tell that Cilic wasn't really at his best. On top of that, Cilic has matchup issues against Murray.
Andy's test, however, lies tonight against Nole. It's really time for him to get this win because he's lost a few matches to Nole since Wimbledon so it's really time that he turn things around in his favour this time.
Anyway, I see Nadal lost to Klizan in 3 sets. Klizan IMHO is a very dangerous player on hard so it wasn't too surprising. Besides, Nadal is just coming back and may just be still be rusty. I hear this was a very good match. I have it on tape so will watch it later.
I think he'll do it. He has lost to him lately, but Andy is rounding into form. His recovery was slow but steady. The win over Cilic, as straightforward as it was is bound to give him confidence.
I didn't think Rafa would get to the final by any means. I think the first match was just the adrenaline flowing, but it takes time to get your timing back and know what shot to hit in the right moment. Plus, Rafa had 37 errors which is a lot for him. Still, I thought he looked relatively good considering he's just coming back, and the little fish in the sea always have to have their time in the sun too.
