Andy's serves are a big liability in his game and one of the two main reasons of his downfall. It's not just the 1st or the 2nd. It's both. If one works then the other falls apart and vice versa. The two are almost never consistent with each other. I am still not sure why Andy would hire AM when his main problems are his serves and a weak mentality. Surely you don't need to master the variety department anymore? Why work on something that is already a great strength for you and works either way? I mean what kind of dumb decision is that?
He's got two very basic problems - one, his mentally is weak therefore has no control over his emotion therefore lacks confidence. Second, his serves are inconsistent and weak. Had Lendl not showed up I doubt he would have won any Slam let alone the Olympics or Wimbledon. He mustn't forget.
It just seems to me he hired AM just to show off that he's so into women coaches and that he ranks women high or at least for his own amusement. And that's fine but this only works when you already mentally strong and have a great sets of skills including the serves. You can't afford such luxury and cause a commotion by hiring a female coach when you have such big wholes in your game. Be realistic Andy, the last thing you need is someone who's even weaker than you mentally and not known for his or her serves.
I am going to put my support of Andy on hold until I see some serious changes in his attitude and decisions. I have no reason to waste my time on him anymore. It's one thing when you give your 100% (like Hewitt or Ferrer) and still lose but it's quite another when you deliberately make bad choices and then suffer. It's utterly dumb. Not funny at all. Man up, Andy. You are not getting any younger.
