That's a bit too dramatic, herc darling. Surely Rafa's 14 Majors and a number of single titles beg the question, no? But I feel both Federer and Nadal fans are quite spoiled and a bit too ambitious for my taste.

I am quite happy with Andy's 2 Slam titles. Of course a few more would be quite deserved as well but I wouldn't be devastated if he weren't to win any more. I am not sure how you guys would have dealt with Nadal if he were to go 15 months without a title and being ranked 11.

It just somehow comes down to all about glory and who gets to keep the bragging right in the end - Rafa fans or Federer fans - unfortunately.

Some Rafa fans, not all. I am happy for Rafa's 14 as it is way more than was ever predicted for him. If he quit tomorrow he will have satisfied me as a tennis fan. I care more about Rafa's health than glory. With good health he can continue to bring the competitive element to the sport that I love, without his health, all is folly.

I was very fine with Sampras' 12/13 Slams. I could see that he was mentally jaded and didn't feel like competing anymore. I wanted him to retire after 2000. In fact, I was begging him to retire. Anyway, it's been really a while I've browsed other forums (TF, TW, MTF etc.) but from what I remember and all that I remember is the constant fight between Nadal and Federer fans and it's almost always about who's greater in a roundabout way. It's not always so obvious but we all know what's it all about in the end. You don't even have to even go into any thread - the thread name itself is too obvious. I don't think you fall into that category (not all by any means of course) but judging by my observation over the years and dealing with these fans, I can safely say that most of these fans are primarily fighting for the bragging rights. It's no wonder that these two (Federer and Nadal) have the most fans. If, for example, you take half of their achievements away, then you lose half the fans and half the arguments/debates that go on in those forums. The reason why neither Andy nor Nole has as many fans or even hated by fans is because they don't have the results to brag about. In fact, as a Murray fan, if you say something anything, some Federer or Nadal fan would remind you not to mention their names in the same sentence as Fedal. In fact, look no further than their signatures. It's almost always about bragging.
