Yes, I am a fan of Gwen Stefani. I like few of her songs like Cool, Rich Girl, 4 in the Morning, Hollaback Girl etc. but her best song to date is definitely 'Don't Speak' which is based on a personal break up as you mentioned, yes. Truth is, break ups are a universal thing and going on forever since the rise of human being I suppose so it's a very common theme.

But 'The Winner Takes It All' was released in 1980 - 16 years before 'Don't Speak' so the latter one most definitely had its influence from the former one. GS is a global star, yes but Madonna is a much bigger global than Gwen; however, I prefer Gwen much better than Madonna since Gwen's talent is more natural than Madonna. Madonna had to work really for everything she has.

In any case, neither is known as soprano singers as Agnetha. They tend to play safe and stay in the middle vocal-wise. Agnetha could hit B5 note quite easily. Agnetha was known as soprano (high key or highest vocal range) and Anni-Frida as mezzo-soprano (low key). Together they would create this incredible otherworldly sound that I don't think we'll ever see again.

From the current pop/rock/R&B/Soul singers only Christina Aguilera is known as soprano or at least has some songs that hit the high notes. African American female singers are typically soprano (as they are physically quite powerful) but haven't seen one in a long time. Christina Aguilera is really talented in this regard because for a tiny body she has a very powerful vocal.
