I completely disagree with that statement. A country cannot guarantee the behaviour of its people given that a country is only a concept and not a being that understands the meaning of life, right or wrong, good or bad etc.

Besides, I have seen Spanish players being classless on occasions (Nadal himself doesn't act very classy after a tough loss) and I don't think people find Bernard Tomic a class act for example. Even Hewitt came off a bit cocky early in his career - even I'll admit that. Same for the English or rather British people. While Andy is very classy and always very quick to give his opponents due credit win or loss, he berates himself a bit too much for my liking/taste. IMO, it's just as bad as berating others. I don't appreciate it and if Andy is reading it by any chance then I don't care. He must know it's not cool at all or respectful. If you don't love and respect yourself then you won't be able to love and respect others, simply put.

Anyway, I never get the notion behind liking all the players that happen to come from the same country. For all I know, every country has its fair shares of good and bad people. I am sure you will find loads of crimes in all these countries and people being behind bars. No country is above it and no country possess the right to 'class act'. It's an individual thing and a country does not set the behaviour of an individual nor does it shape the mindset of an individual. It's a ludicrous thing to say, herc darling, sorry.

I disagree, while countries do not "enforce" individual behaviors, they do share a certain type of cultures. For example, China is known for their humility and collectivism as a whole. That doesn't mean everyone within a culture adheres to the social mores of their geographical boundaries. Still, there is a lot that one can see in the differences, even in tournaments. The Australian Open seems to be a fun place, with friendly people, and much respect for the players and the sport; the same with the Argentinians, English, and the Spanish players.

Rafa being a bad loser. I totally disagree about that. I don't much about Bernie except what I hear out of the commentators mouths and I put little to know stock in that.

But of course we can always agree to disagree, because if anybody shows little class as a sportsman, IMO, it's Nole. Tearing off his shirts and having his team celebrating wins in his opponents face. It doesn't get any worse than that to me. I know he "says" reasonable things, but his actions belie his words.
