Ego tends to rationalize things; that's why we cannot always listen to it. Even a murderer will try to rationalize things as to why he murdered somebody. We do it all the time to excuse some of our own behaviours. Being quiet means being in touch with the Self. But the idea is to be nobody. Self is nobody. Ego is somebody. Ego has to be somebody otherwise it can't survive. Anyway, I will go into details as to what I know later.
