Murray in trouble now.  He had Cilic down love-30 on Cilic's service game, but Cilic threw 4 straight bombs in to take the game.  Then Murray couldn't get a first serve in to save his life, quickly down 15-40. He saved the break points to make it to deuce thanks to a tight forehand into the net by Cilic on a sitter.  Then Murray flubbed it with a couple of wild shots.   Andy needs to get his act together quickly, or hope Cilic gets tight again as he sees the finish line in sight.

Andy simply hasn't had enough tour matches since being out since September, especially against top players.   First one he had was Federer, and Murray said it was a shock to play him.  Cilic is not necessarily a top player, but he is hot at the moment.   Hardly anyone can come back after a layoff with miraculous play like Nadal did last year after so few matches.   

This is normal... not really anything to be upset about.  Andy needs more tough matches like this.  Big picture?  He needs to be ready by Wimbledon.

He had a few chances to turn things around but wasted all of them. He's playing poorly judging by the stats. Cilic knows Andy's not totally match fit yet so he's feeling rather confident about his own game.

That is true but Andy has his own demons too to deal with.

Andy's not coming back in this one. Cilic is only 1 game away from victory.

Uhh, all to no avail.  Marin Cilic served it out.  Tough match for Mr. Murray, OBE.  First serve was not there for him, too many rally balls floated out on him, and a hot Cilic continues to serve and play well.   

Best of 3 can be too quick sometimes.   Still this was an unscheduled wild card entry for Murray to get more matches in, so mission accomplished.

Andy should be looking better by Miami.  I'd say at least SF.

Andy played quite crap while Cilic played really well so the right person advanced in this case. Andy will have to earn it from this point on. A loss can turn things around for him if  were to take anything positive out of it.  Sampras' loss to Edberg in the USO final in 1992 turned his whole pro career around for example.

It's alright. I can take losses. Andy will have to make his own path once again and rise to the top. I have complete faith in him so I am not worried.

it will come. he is my heavy favorite for the Wimbledon title.

lendl believes that andy will do well on clay this year.

I still worry about his consistency in the clutch but maybe he can make it happen this time around.
