Tsonga is surprising me in this event Emma.
i have always felt that he was streaky and not consistent enough. but he is on a roll here.
congrats to Roger and Tsonga fans. both players are having a great tournament.
And Tsonga takes it. How awesome is that? He beat Chardy, Nole, Murray, Dimitrov and Federer to win this. This is just too good.
Not only that, except for Murray, he beat everyone in straight sets. Murray apparently posed the biggest challenge here for him. Wow - what a run here and what a great series of wins.
Needless to say, Tsonga's big serves were the deciding factor in each match. It was that big throughout the tournament. The best player without doubt in this tournament is Tsonga. I couldn't be anymore happy for him.
I did feel a bit sorry for Federer I must admit. He's falling short in the final stages of things. He did pretty well to come this far.
Congrats to Tsonga and his fans.
He just played a tournament of his life.
It is not easy to do what he had to do in this event.
I am SO happy for Tsonga but at the same time I can't help but think that Andy could have won this too. He, in fact, won more points than Tsonga in that match and still managed to lose. Crazy stuff. I want to beat Andy up.
All Andy needed to do was to hold on to his serves. Dimitrov was lucky to survive Anderson so I really think Andy would have been able to put away Dimitrov too.
Federer/Murray would have made a great final too though today's final was not so bad either. Federer looked nervous and had a hard time adjusting the day time schedule. Tsonga, on the other hand, got more used to playing during the day on top of beating Nole and Andy.
Heck, I was totally willing to go to the semi and the final if Andy were there. Oh well...
What's ahead come Cincy and yes, USO? Can Andy take it to where it all started? I sure hope so. I am waiting for my baby to do well. It's been a while.

i think Andy can snatch the Cincy masters Emma. he got their early and got a good start on his practice sessions.
he will be well acclimated to the heat and the humidity in Cincy.
we will cheer for Andy.
Not too hopeful but don't want to be too negative either. I do think it's strictly on Andy's hand to turn things around for himself and nothing else or nobody else can help him there.
Would like to see how the courts of Cincy and USO will play out this year. USO typically reflects Cincy so I guess we can go by that for now. Toronto courts were rather fast this year. Even Nole openly admitted it and said that it was more to Tsonga's advantage. Raonic, Lopez, Dimitrov, Tsonga not to mention Federer - they all did well on this surface. It would have benefited Andy too had he been a bit more careful. He too admitted that the courts were playing faster. We saw Nole, Wawrinka, Berdych all go out on the same day.
You can see and feel it when you watch the matches live in person. I was amazed at Andy's quickness at both matches vs Kyrgios and Tsonga. I really think Toronto delivered this time with most matches going to 3 sets and a few upsets early on.
the courts in Ciny usually play fast.
i am hearing that Andy has been working hard on his serve there among other things.
hopefully he can get it done. it will be great for his confidence going into the u.s. open.
