The Ukraine is in trouble although they have gone through far worse in the past. Klitschko is the peoples candidate and has a PHD. If they pass liberal laws to get resources and produce a ccc type jobs program to the people the country might pull through. The Oligarchs might not be much of a "friend" of the people.......or to Vitali.

Ok have watched many Calzaghe's  fights. Great boxer puncher. Not really bad in any area really. Hopkins fights Calzaghe 10 times he takes at least 4 every time. Prob 5. Calzaghe has the style to trouble Hopkins. That super flurries technique annoys the hell out of a fighter like Hopkins. The Break he pulled on Hopkins in the 10th was a joke. Fooled Joe Cortez big time.

Thank you great response BritBox!
Calzaghe is top 5 super middleweight of all time no doubt.  Him, Benn, Eubank, Jones, Hopkins. I love his speed and combinations. His absolute annihilation of Manfredo was a spectacle to see. The super combinations. Good chin. I do recall him getting called a slapper.
I did see the Hopkins fight and he def deserved that win. Hopkins is amazing. Calzaghe style could have very well troubled Jones in his prime. The Movement and flurries from Calzaghe is def a good tactic against Jones.

I did not follow boxing much when it turned into pay per view only and missed Calzaghe. Great fighter no doubt. Going to have to watch his great fights. and make a better judgement on him. Was he like Stevie Collins who kind of got Benn and Eubank at the end of their careers?  I dont think so Roy Jones and BHop were still formidable and both had defense.

Max Baer.
This in the movie I did not understand and is new to me. He was the crowd of 30000 favorite in that Braddock fight.  I have never heard one negative word about Max Baer.
Lets just say America is no angel and have demonized Germans and others ::) We then hired their scientists on during and after the war to fight the Russians. LMAO. corporate scam

Max was the prototype for the modern big men. These super heavyweights.
He had a huge right hand. Good jab. Was not slow like Primo Carnera.

manos de piedra! You can not get any better and make this sh*t up. I remember watching Duran beat Iran Barkley in NYC MSG with a packed hispanic Panamanian boxing crown. Mega epic. Stan Hoffman worked with Iran. Good fighter in his own right. Used to see him around all the time back in the HT.

Not many people remember that Pacquiao used to be a great Flyweight, Featherweight and lightweight.
IMO he might be the Featherweight GOAT.

Well the better question might be who is the GOAT in each division. I tend to go with the more modern fighter. Lennox Lewis would have annihilated Ali/Clay prime vs prime. So Ali/Clay is not the greatest to me.
might as well make a boxing GOAT thread....  :D

I think Djokovic was gassed at the end there. His legs went in that one match. Cyborg malfunction. What a display tho. Hoping for the streak to never end!

Exhibitions are hilarious. Looks like beautiful South American Weather as well! Deep Blue skies ah...

Bummed out I missed out.
I missed out on the late 1970's and early 1980's. I was too young. 1985 was when my brain developed enough to comprehend boxing and tennis.

How about Pacquiao at 36 looking fast this past weekend?!

Granted Rios is a bit shop worn.
