...What does God's word say ...
« on: November 25, 2013, 12:35:05 am »
God's  word  tells  us   we  reap  what  we  sow  .  And  that  everything   reaps  after  it's own kind .  That  is  why zebras  dont  mate with  lions  . nor  dogs  with  cats .  Not  only  that   when  you  plant  a  seed , it  grows  what   you  plant, you  don't  get   watermelons  on  cucumber  plants  do we ? I  am  leading   up  to  a point  here . No matter  who , no matter  where  , we  reap  what  we  sow . I  am  sure  Peyton Manning  will  not  win  a  SB  with  Denver  .   Why  ....................... because  he too  planted   seeds  .  So  did   Elway  , Tim  found  out  from  his  brother he was  traded  , not  like  Elway  said  and  Tim  never  had a  choice of  where  he went.  So  lets  take  inventory  here ,  Elway  said   Tebow  is  our  starter  ,  turned  around   and  romanced  Manning  to get  him to  Denver . The   the  Manning  craze  was  on   everyone  was  so  thrilled   , wow   Denver  will  win the  SB  now ! HMMMMMMM    not so  much  Tebow  actually  took   them  further  than  Manning  . Manning  is  37  not  26  like he  was in his  heyday . Of  course  Elway  has  always  thought  he  owned  Denver ,  the people  there  worship  him  (sad) .   Elway  lied  to  Tim  ,  and   he  got  one  less  playoff  win .  Was  it   worth  it  , and  the money  he  spent  . People  still  believe   so  ,  they are  deluded . Why  ?  because    we  reap  what  we  sow .  This  year   Manning  goes  to  Indy   and  they give him  a  tribute  , then  he loses  to the  guy they  replaced  him with  ,  coinsidence   ,  I  think  not .   There  went  their  undefeated   season  ,  yea  they  beat  KC  but  that  was  in  Denver . Next  time it's in KC  .  They  were  so  far  ahead today  and  then  fumbles   and  interceptions   for  Manning  .  The  last  play of the  game  , a  mistake  ,  no   God's  will .  People  don't  think  God   cares  about  stuff  like  this   but  in the bible   it  says  he takes  care of  all  living  things . Manning  may  have   a  good  season  but  I will  stand  by  my   Manning  will  never  ever   win  another  SB  , he is  one  and  done . Why , because  he  knew by  coming to  Denver  he was   killing  Tim's  chances  there .  Elway  lied to  everyone , including  himself , thinking  he  can still be  the   big   guy  in  Denver  and  get the  praise  and  worship . But   we  all  know  God  is  the one  who  owns  everything  and that  He  and  He  alone   is  worthy  of  worship  and  praise . God   honors   ethics ,  and  integrity  ,  they are  a  rare thing  these  days  .  Tim  is not  in the  NFL   this  year  ,  but  do  you  think  he is  done  yet  , I  don't   . Why  because   faith  is the  substance of things  hoped  for  and the  evidence  of  things  not  seen . Elway   and  Manning's  garden's  are  growing  ,  and it isn''t  what  they  wanted  , but it  is  what they  planted . In  life   we  must  be  very  careful  what   we  plant  ....................... lest  it  grow  and  choke us  to  death  !  AMEN ??

great stuff Laurice.

excellent to see you. emma was missing you today. she talked about at her café this evening.

we are still too small so hang on for a few more months. the good word will get around and we will have more people to share your incredible work here.

we have God on our side so there really is not stopping us. we will spread the word of God to the sporting world.

we are not as good as Tim Tebow at it but we try anyway. i am going to ask him and robbie tebow to stop by here one day anyway.

i know they are very busy but can you imagine if they just join. their name alone will bring us good fortune.

Laurice,

There are many denominations that are under the umbrella of Christianity. I saw the Charismatic title, but I am not sure what it means. Can you explain what they mean by Charismatic?

By that  he  means  the Christianity  that  is  , for  lack  of  a  better word   , false. The  people  who  think  you  are  born again  , and then   God  wants  you  to  be  rich  , the  name  it claim it  type .  Nothing  is  farther  from the  truth  as  Jesus  said  take  up  your  cross  and  follow  me  .  He didn't  say   I  will  take  your  cross if  you  follow me . The  truth  is  that  it is  the  narrow  way  Jesus  told  us  to take  ,  to  deny  oneself   and  live  for  Him . That  is  not  to say  you  cannot  pray  for  good things  to  happen  ,  you  can  and   they do . But  look  for  a moment at  Tim  Tebow , he is  a  large  Christian   presence in the  world  , but  things  have not  come  easy  for  him . Right  now  Tim is  still  working on  being and NFL QB , however  very  few  other  than  God  ,  Tim  and  his  believers  would  believe  that  would  happen .  Tim  is  living  in  California  , working  everyday to  become  a  better  QB , and  that  takes   faith  . Faith  is  the  substance of  things  hoped for the evidence  of  things  not  seen. The  other  thing  is  that  the  fruits of the  Spirit  also must  be  evident  in a  Christian .  You  do  not  go  and do whatever  thinking  the  grace  of  God   covers  everything  , because  that  is  false  teaching , there has to  be  a change  in a person . Hence  the  portion of the  word  where  Jesus  says  not  everyone that  says  Lord  Lord  shall  enter  the kingdom , but those  who do the  will of my  Father .  I believe we  can  know  if  a  person is  a  Christian  by  how  they  live   ,  but  not  how  they talk . Baptism only  gets  one  wet  it  does  not   save

Laurice,

I was asking you about the term charismatic and what it meant.

Are you saying that those who preach that name-it-and-claim-it sermons are called charismatics?

There were a lot of parts that I did understand, I think. I like to be clear that I'm on the same page when I'm conversing with someone because sometimes things get twisted.

But, I do so hate that name-it-and-claim-it spiel, because what on earth is a Mercedes to God? Why would God be impressed by man-made things and see it as something for us to aspire to?

I also agree about some Christians thinking they're saved and then having the license to do whatever they please. There's so much more to Christianity than many people know.

I guess I was only confused about the term charismatic, because I've heard it, but never could get any answers for it.

Anyway, thanks for

Wow, Sara, did you see this?

Judgmental Catholics -- Pope Francis said an amazing thing: “If someone is gay and he searches for the Lord and has good will, who am I to judge?” Indeed.

That is an awesome article, Laurice,

One of the best I've ever read on the subject. The pastor articulated every thought and belief that I have always held. Because we all sin, and God says that no sin is lesser than the others, that means we all have foibles and are therefore in no position to judge others. It was interesting how the host kept trying to put words in his mouth, but he sidestepped any supposed "traps" and spoke the truth.

Thank you so much for sharing it. I have saved it for my personal file and will definitely share it with others. What a Christmas gift! More knowledge.

Merry Christmas.

My sister is gay.  Years ago she came to live with me for a while and at first she avoided the weekly Bible Study Groups we had in our home and the invitations to join us in church.  As time went by she became curious to what we teaching and I firmly believe that is what our fruits that drew her to the studies....she wanted to know who God was.  One day she accepted my invitation to the church and I was filled with joy!  When we woke up in the morning she had put on her best suit and tie and happily we went.

Sadly, when we  came back home she was feeling hurt and  ridiculed.  I was angry.  She was scoffed at, looked down upon, she was not welcomed with open arms and too many whispers behind her back and mine for having invited her.

"How is her sin greater than mine?" I asked.  "Didn't Jesus die for her too?"  "Isn't the plan of salvation extended to her as well?"  I was so angry that I left that "church".  My sister never stepped into a church again.

That's awful, but sadly it is the case with many Churchians. They have no idea about God and his perfect plan.

We had a similar situation at our church where this "prostitute" interrupted Sunday service by entering the church looking all disheveled, with a wig askew on her head.

When I looked up and saw I was thinking, how awesome, no matter how bad her night was she had come to church looking to be in God's presence.

But, when I looked around the congregation I saw people laughing and snickering at her. I was so mad. I thought where else should she be?

Then we found out that it was a skit prepared by the Pastor.

Do you think those people got the message? Uh, no.

This type of behavior is why so many people don't care for Christians. It isn't their religion, many times it's their attitudes.
