Paddled for years
Broken arms from all the strife
Eyes spilling tears
In this game called life
Daily reminder that I'm a soul
Inhabiting a temporary vessel
Kept fighting for everything
All the time wondering
How things seem so easy
For everyone else
Have to get within
To make it work without
Stop the paddling upstream
Filled with obstacles
Exhaustion allowed me to give up
The fight
Let go of the plight
Let the stream take me
Going with the flow
It was a light bulb moment
Allowed me to grow
