Wailing of cries incongruent
Shrills are high pitched & filled with pain
A youthful face appears old & frail
Roller coaster ride of a loosing brain
Reaching back into the memory trail
Of years gone by
What seems refreshed
Much better than the present strain
Lost the hunger to try
Would rather be in oblivion
Atrophy settling
Escaping the happiness of possible passion
Preferring to look forward to die

Reaching deep into my soul
Both light and dark exist
It's not so much about yin/yang
Many times I'm off kilter
Though balance seeps in
Trying to connect deeper
To make me whole
Multiple levels of me
The facets are continual
Years ago I foolishly thought
Less facets were more attractive
Before I learned to love myself
When I ached to please everyone
Around me
True what they say
First love yourself
So much to discover
Over and over and over again

Human nature to test each other
Give you enough rope
To show me if you're full of integrity
Time after time as youve promised me
Trust is a two way street
Just over time
Met those that often had lies to compete
Shattered to realize their efforts were
Full of manipulation
Too many situations
Where I was gutted in devastation
Whether lovers or "true" friends
Their definitions far varied from mine
Still after all that pain
I still give everyone I meet
Hoping that they too
Are truly kind
Quite a feat

Dangerous are those
Whose egomaniacal delusions
Forcing fabrications
False elations
Deep down your souls are cimmerian
Needing the light
To break the harsh fright
That has incurred much more pain
All corrosive fear
Has torn at your brain
Creating every tear
Escaping in expression
Of your real strain
Your own disdain

And has competed as well as danced professionally
In the art of belly dancing

Im attending one of her classes

It works parts of my body that regular exercise doesn't even affect

A pretty young girl once made a promise
To her pretty young best friend
They were only ten
To be together forever
One would apply make up and the other style hair
They had a strong bond since the age of five
Laughed and giggled playing at
Their dreams and what they wanted to strive
Illness struck the one young friend
Her need to hide her balding head under a scarf
While plaiting her best friends hair
Saying one day my hair will be as long as yours
Every couple of months she was rushed to the hospital
The pain was so intense
Throughout all she experienced
She smiled and kissed a picture of mother Mary
That particular Christmas
She was being rushed to the hospital again
This angelic beings face glowed
Smiled weakly and said with certainty
No need to rush
I'm going home today
There I don't feel pain
My hair is long again
Mother Mary came with angels, she said
It was Christmas Day so long ago
Today I came across a picture of us playing
She's sent me a sign
A must for me to realign
Smiling as Samantha did
This memory felt like yesterday
Lighting a candle for her miraculous appearance
As I whispered I love you my friend
