Sometimes
The path I walk
Is full of pain
Struggling
As tears course down my face
My clothes they stain

Other times
The path catches me as I stumble
It shakes me out of my reverie
Helping me realize
Laughter creates momentous jubilee
Hope fills my heart again

Always
Knowing that I entered this path alone
I will exit the same
Stepping out of the box
Not fitting in
I will continue to alter
The rules to my game

Pretend to not care
Although I’ve often caught you
Look away
After such an intense stare

Prevent the words
From escaping your mouth
Your soul speaks louder
Through the depth of your eyes
They tell no lies

Prolong this anticipation
For not much longer
Moments away
Someone who conveys their heart
May reveal sentiments much stronger

Devoid of clarity
Directionless decision making
Illusions strained by confusion
Chaos revealed throughout the halls
Mistreated rooms
IN need of attention
Constructing the walls
Resurrecting with determination
To prevent the excavation
For the home is the mirror
Of the souls turmoil

Symbols are strewn all around
Some quietly floating from the sky
While feather are on the ground
So much to observe
Far is the reach of the arm
Much further for the eye
Blessings are received
From those who distribute them
Smiles exchanged
Without a sound
For there is a knowing
Felt within the body
Beyond the heart
Deep in the soul
A warmth emanates
It’s spreads, it’s growing
Sweetness elevated
With kind words of gratitude
Welcomed daily
This type of attitude
You can hear the lilt in my voice
It compliments the smile showing

Kaleidoscope of colours
Interwoven like a plait
Every possible shade
A calvacade of tones and hues
Brightly strewn through nature’s foliage
Mirrored across the sun rise
Hailing the skies beatify love
Expansive blue
Intensify the shades of pinks
And purples as the sun sets

The greenery lushly overgrown
From the onset of rain
Heralding the quickened growth
Of summers heat
Sweet animals playfully sharing
Their excitement with joyful love

Even the grumpiest of humans
Can absorb this unconditional love
Love that raises the vibrations
Where smiles are contagious
Across the streets
Even for those
Who dartingly avoid eye contact
Slight crinkle At the corner of the eye
As an unwilling grin escapes
Their stoic face

I count my blessings daily
Filled with many prayers nightly
I love my beautiful country Canada
I am a big city girl from Toronto Ontario
The four seasons would definitely befit
Vivaldi’s soulful music
Enmeshed with various surprises
Throughout the year
All emotions enlivened
Laughter and even a tear
Celebrating life vibrantly
For all to hear

I am filled with gratitude
I am filled with joy
Positivity fills my heart
Blessings fill my soul
Aggrandizement of all the broken
Pieces of old
I’ve created a beautiful stellar piece of art
