I am in the same camp. he is just not himself these days.
it seems like something changed after the back injury in Melbourne.
he said the other day he is finding the "passion" again.
I am not really sure why the passion went away since he is a world #1 and has a chance to go after the slam record.
how many players will ever get that chance in the future? he stands alone in history to be able to go after the slam record.
his concentration and focus goes away as soon as he secures the lead and puts himself in a winning position in his matches. he is getting better but he needs to focus better fast.
Well, Rafa answered a lot of questions today about his passion. That was one heck of a match. I don't remember seeing such an exciting match with both guys playing their best, outmaneuvering each other, and refusing to back down in a long time.
It was a joy to watch. I was stunned at Andy's level. I thought he played good this week, but he turned it up quite a few notches today. I wasn't sure if Nadal could summon up the energy, but he didn't.
The shotmaking was breathtaking. I'm going to catch it later so that I can DVR it. That match is a keeper.
So nice to see Andy make such a statement, and equally nice to see Rafa answer the call.
