Yeah, I'm not sure about Nole at Roland Garros. I'm not sure he'll make the finals. But let's see what the draw is like. He has had some pretty good draws lately. Too good, sometimes. In some cases it has hurt him, I think. Not enough semi-tough opponents before facing very tough opponents.
As for Rafa, he has to get past the QF. Once he does, he'll have his 20 matches, and I think it will be tough for anyone to beat him over 5 sets. Before that, especially early, a good clay player might upset him, even in best of 5, just because he hasn't played enough. It is what I'm most worried about for him.
It's not a confidence thing, it is staying at a high enough level throughout a match, which only comes after playing enough matches. I think of it like this: One lapse during a 3 set match and you can survive, it might cost you a set, two can cost you the match. 5 sets gives you 2 lapses of survival, 3 can hurt you. The question is that during his early matches can he keep the lapses down to 2 or under? Depends who he plays and how he and they play, obviously. He is having some difficulty holding his serve, especially in key moments. That also has to stop.
About 2 1/2 days till the draw general.
