Since this thread is called Rant and Rave, I'm afraid I must rant a bit.

I think this is a female thing, but I don't like my friends calling me every single day. I have other things to do than just sit around and talk on the phone. I don't call people and say stuff like, "what you doing?" because evidently I was doing something before you called.  The only time I call people is when I have something of interest to tell them, but I don't call people because I'm bored. Sometimes I have to fade out of people's lives because they do stuff like this.

I know they mean well, especially considering some of the things I'm going through, but I don't want to be coddled and I also don't want long conversations about my problems. How boring is that?

Anyway, I needed to get that off my chest and naturally, I couldn't discuss it with my friends, LOL.

i could not agree more.


i am not much of a talker on the phone anyway. i prefer face to face communication as much as possible.

as far as friends go, there is just no need to talk to them 7 days a week. everybody leads a busy life these days and that includes us also.


the only exception is mom and dad. i call them 2-3 times a day. mostly in the evenings.



anyway this another reason why Camelot is a perfect place for some of us. they can really enjoy their peace and quiet here.

Both of my parents are deceased. I would give anything to be able to talk to them several times a day. You have got the right priorities. Those are forever relationships. You are doing the right thing!
