it is not going to work out for roger today.
I got this one wrong. djokovic is going to grab this one.
It was a sloppy match, full of errors and dips, but they are still light years ahead of Rafa. I'm glad Raonic won that match because Rafa would've gotten slaughtered by either one of them.
But Rafa is improving incrementally so I expect him to get better, but I'll say it'll be two or three more tournaments before he fully gets his confidence back and feel better about his game.
I hear ya. I was not really worried about the win as much as I am worried about his current level of fitness.
suboptimal fitness can lead to injury given his demanding style of play. we have had way too many injuries. next big injury will end his career.
I would just feel so much better once he is on the red clay.
I understand the fitness issue. With so much time off the tour it's going to take awhile to get adjusted to playing matches with pressure and stress. I think that would be true for anybody. You have to readjust mentally, physically, and psychologically.
I actually very good about how Rafa is getting re-acclimated. I just don't want him to play the Big Boys just yet. However, his level is progressing in the right direction to me.
