we can avenge the loss and make some progress with the ground game at the same time.


we may not win here as djokovic is just too strong right now but we can take Barcelona and rome.


rafa just needs a few more matches on clay to find his ground game again.


today was not a bad day. he had 32 winners and just 12 unforced errors.

he needs those numbers again but it will be more difficult. ferru is more fit and physical than ever before and he has won 4 tournaments already.





if we can take Barcelona and rome then that sets us up nicely for RG.

I agree with every word of this post. Rafa needs matches and to re-acclimate himself back to the top echelon of tennis. He hasn't played too many and the talent levels are immense along with the pressure to succeed, but I think he is making great strides, considering all of the factors that he's dealing with.

But, I know Rafa, he has the heart of a champion and his present circumstances do not dictate his future. By the time we get to RG, he will be in much better form, as to me, he has improved with every match.

This match with Ferrer will be good for him because it will allow him to groove his ground strokes. Like you said, he still won't be ready for Novak, but I think that may be a good thing, because it will cause Novak to become over confident. that's what usually happens.

But you know what the best thing is, is that Rafa can accept where he is, because he knows what's inside of him. He's never made it a habit of listening to what others say, he depends on himself. That's why he's the champion that he is.
