I hope octoberina discovers Camelot.

We are always relaxed and at peace here.

And we all get along well like a small family.

I know. I'll check, but I think she have her profile on private. I contacted a fair amount of them when I came over here, but you know how that goes. It's a shame too, because there's a lot of great Rafa fans over there, but maybe some of them are addicted to the arguing. Not me, I kicked that habit. I prefer this small forum where you can have reasonable discussions. People don't know what they're missing, if you ask me.

Very tough draw for Rafa.

He has hardly any matches under his belt.

They all have been playing and also practicing like mad.

I will just hope for the best.

Maybe Rafa can dig deep but I just don't see the preparation.

I don't know why is taking such a massive gamble.

It's brutal, that's for sure. All we can do is hope for the best, but er, um. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Wow, that was 2014? Who is this imposter on court this year? Get it together Rafa. I know you will, hopefully in time for RG, 2015.

here is what they called general shanks:

start da fail

fail da brain

and god knows what else. he started the thread and then had to run to avoid the insults and name calling.

he loves Rafa. he used to be attacked nonstop at MTF.

and guess who used to defend him there?

we have a nice home here in Camelot. we don't need that abuse.

they too can call this home but I guess they like abuse and they like being **** on.

you can ask general masterclass. I always defended the weak everywhere we have presence.

but Camelot is our home now and will be forever and ever.

so I don't post much anywhere.

I've decided to keep up with the Big Four. I get a lot of Rafa stuff on my newsfeed on FB, but only a little on the other three. Since these guys are a part of one of the greatest eras in tennis history. It's important that we know what's going on with them.

A quote from Rafa, do you guys agree or disagree?

Rafa Nadal : " Some people get very confused about my game , they think it's better if the court is slow , because I have a good defense , but the faster it is , the better for me , my spin is more painful for my opponents , my aggressive game works better .!.! "

Rafa himself told us that his forehand lacks horsepower and consistency.

before that his uncle tony told us that.

and before that I forecast this happening over 5 years ago.

I knew this was going to happen.

I just cant see it any other way now. he took one hell of a risk by not playing a small event this week. he really should have gone to estoril or munich.

the danger of falling out of top 10 is very real now.

basically Rafa has to win Madrid in order to at least start hitting his stride.

and then in Rome he is likely to run into Nole very early. Rafa just needs matches right now.

Strange timing for Rafa, considering he's talking about not feeling confident. But, maybe he's getting there. Who knows? Have to trust Rafa.

Rafael Nadal Whats The Secret of My Mental Strength The simple things

Tennis - Rafael Nadal is currently training in Madrid. The Spaniard said that are the simple things that make him happy.

http://www.tennisworldusa.org/Rafael-Nadal-Whats-The-Secret-of-My-Mental-Strength-The-simple-things-articolo23680.html

Rafael Nadal said he can't say if he is the best Spain sportsman ever, during an interview with El Chiringuito de Jugones: "I can't express an opinion like that on myself. Spain has a lot of great sportsmen and sportswomen, and it has had them throughout history. I, as a passionate follower, had a chance to enjoy the great things about sports that involved my country in recent years."

One of the highlights of the former world number one is his great mental strength he shows during difficult situations. One of the secrets, according to Rafa, is that athletes "don't think negative things that are happening in that moment, but think of solutions that you need to be taken to change the situation. At the present time I'm living, things are not going as I planned" analyzed Nadal.
Among the important things for Nadal, householdis is one of the most important. "Everyone is happy with one thing or the other.

Things that are more or less simple, make me happy. I have old friends, that I know since I was 4 years old, or at school or in groups. I see them every Saturday. My life didn't change, I still live with my parents and always keep continuity and stability. This makes me happy."
About the court, Nadal said: "I'm coming to Madrid in good physical shape. The tournaments in Madrid and Rome will be important for the upcoming Roland Garros."

he is right to some extent but when he was at the top of his game and worked hard on his fitness and his physicality, he dished out pain on all surfaces.

far more pain on clay obviously but he made 5 Wimbledon finals and won 2 of them.

he took home 2 u.s. opens and 1 Australian open.

The Mutua Madrid Open draw is out. Defending champion Rafael Nadal, who has a bye in the first round, will play in the second round against the winner of Steve Johnson and a qualifier.

On his way to his fifth title in Madrid, our champ could then play Kevin Anderson, Stan Wawrinka or Grigor Dimitrov, Roger Federer and finally Kei Nishikori, David Ferrer or Andy Murray.
If the men play to seed the quarter-final line up will be:

•   Roger Federer vs. Tomas Berdych
•   Rafael Nadal vs. Stan Wawrinka
•   Kei Nishikori vs. David Ferrer
•   Andy Murray vs. Milos Raonic

All the best of luck in the world to our champ! Vamos Rafa!

he is trying to think positive but all his problems are from inactivity. back injury, wrist injury and that surgery also hurt a great deal.

he stopped putting in the long yards on fitness and his physicality work in the gym and he cut back drastically on his court practice time.

the result was a weakened Rafa with little or no consistency and with very poor movement compared to his own standards.

there is so little time left now until we get to Paris. you cant get strong and fit in a few days.

he is going to need some luck.

Yikes! Rafa is not ready for Federer. There's no way. Hopefully he even gets to the semifinals.

MUTUA MADRID OPEN

Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal could renew their rivalry in the semi-finals of the Mutua Madrid Open after Friday’s draw pitched them both in the top half of the 56-player field.

Federer is the top seed in Madrid, the fourth ATP World Tour Masters 1000 tournament of the season, but it will not be a straightforward path for the Swiss. After a first-round bye, the 33-year-old Federer, who is through to the semi-finals in Istanbul this weekend, could face rising Australian star Nick Kyrgios in the second round. Kyrgios is also enjoying success on the clay this week, through to his first ATP World Tour semi-final in Estoril.

The third round could see Federer face Jeremy Chardy, whom he lost to on clay at the Internazionali BNL d’Italia in Rome last year, while 16th seed John Isner also features in that section and boasts a clay-court win over Federer in Davis Cup action three years ago.
Federer, who is chasing his 24th ATP World Tour Masters 1000 crown next week, is seeded to face No. 6 Tomas Berdych in the quarter-finals. Berdych was present at Friday evening’s draw at the Caja Magica after starring in the event’s Charity Day alongside David Ferrer, Fernando Verdasco, Serena Williams and Caroline Wozniacki. The 29-year-old Czech finished runner-up at the Monte-Carlo Country Club last month and lost to Federer in a tight three-set final in Madrid three years ago.

The third-seeded Nadal is looking to win the Madrid title for the third year in a row, after beating Stan Wawrinka in the 2013 final and Kei Nishikori last year. The Spaniard comes into Madrid eager for a return to top form after a shock third-round exit to Fabio Fognini in Barcelona last week.

The left-hander opens against either Steve Johnson or a qualifier and is projected to meet 15th seed Kevin Anderson in the third round. But before any potential meeting with Federer, Nadal is likely to have to play either eighth seed Wawrinka or 10th seed Grigor Dimitrov, who is competing in the Istanbul semi-finals this weekend. Also in that section is Fognini.
Andy Murray and last year’s finalist Kei Nishikori headline the bottom half of the draw.

Murray, seeded second, opens his campaign against either a qualifier or Philipp Kohlschreiber and could face 13th seed Gael Monfils in the third round. The Scot, who could play two singles matches in Munich on Saturday as he chases his first ATP World Tour clay-court title, is challenged in his quarter of the draw by fifth seed Milos Raonic and home favourite Feliciano Lopez.

Fourth seed Nishikori enters Madrid in a rich vein of form, having repeated as Barcelona champion last week. The Japanese star has a tricky opening match against either Ernests Gulbis or David Goffin and is projected to meet 14th seed Roberto Bautista Agut in the third round.

There is a strong Spanish contingent in the third quarter of the draw, with seventh seed David Ferrer, Tommy Robredo, Fernando Verdasco and Guillermo Garcia-Lopez all vying for a potential third-round clash with ninth seed Marin Cilic.
Main draw play begins on Sunday at the Caja Magica.

he played and won more hard court matches than anybody alive in 2008. it got him the Australian open in 2009 but he again refused to back off the hard courts after that. he would go to Rotterdam and finish the match against andy murray on one leg. he would also end up losing to soderling at RG and then was forced to skip Wimbledon. and this is when he was at the top of his game

he could not back off the hard courts when he had to and needed to.

he installed an indoor hard court in Mallorca.

I knew his infatuation with hard courts would cost him his ground game and also bring him many injuries.

again you have to have played a game very similar to his game and at a fairly high level to see lot of this.

general masterclass is in complete agreement with this. hard courts cost him. rafa has even said repeatedly that he needs to back off the hard courts a little but only thing that forces him off the hard courts is injuries.

I think the exact time to back off the hard courts a little bit was after winning the u.s open in 2013.

that was a perfect time. he had achieved everything he ever wanted on those courts.

there was no need to chase #1 considering he will soon be out of top 10.

it would also eventually injure him and it did. his body hit the wall at the Australian open in 2014.

That makes sense, but I'm sure Rafa wanted to do things outside of clay. I can hardly blame him, but a lot of it had to do with not managing is schedule properly. His camp has never been good at that, or Rafa doesn't listen to them. We'll never know.

I think there is one last run at a slam left in him. and maybe even 2 runs at slams.

but he will have to reclaim his fitness and his physicality to pull it off.

any other way would require a lot of luck.

right now I am just thinking survival in terms of injuries. lets hope there are zero injuries in 2015 and that he comes back to do major damage in 2016 and captures 2 slams.

and then he should be ready to sail into the sunset.

but it will require an immense work ethic and staggering hunger to capture a couple of more slams.

that should be his goal right now. reclaim his fitness and his physical strength and go after 2 more slams.

one RG and one Wimbledon. both are soft surfaces. and natural surfaces of course.
