Ha ha ha. I hear you. Will this help? Is the Clay Warrior out of the doghouse?

Rafa:"The day I don't want to face the problems & tell them I want to overcome them, it'll be the end. Not the case"
More Rafa quotes from previous link: "There are some challenges ahead to be achieved & I'm determined & convinced to achieve them." ½

Rafa: "There is no room in my mind to giving up and not achieving some personal goals that I've set to myself" 2/2

negative.

he has work to do. we already should have had 10 RG crowns and 3 Australian Open crowns. and another Wimbledon.

we gave up a lot after that Australian open win in 2009. we went to Rotterdam when it was clear we were absolutely spent. he would finish that final against andy on just one leg.

that damn knee has never been fully right ever since.

I am his toughest task master.

and I am not happy with him.

now the mission is clear: he has to cover some lost ground. win all the early matches quickly and efficiently and then shut down djokovic in the quarterfinals.

the rest will take care of itself.

My guesses bolded.

Alrighty then, 8/9. I was struggling with Garcia-Lopez ans S Johnso, I didn't think Steve could pull it off. Messed up my record too.

Earlier today I watched the 2005-6 FO with Rafa and Roger. The tennis was sublime. It was the one where Federer reeled of the 600 set before Rafa rebounded. Then, later on they showed Rafa vs. Novak 2014, and it occurred to me that, while Nole is a good player, he's not in the same realm as Rafa and Roger. Their tennis was otherworldly when they faced off against each other in the beginning of the rivalry. Novak just looks like a better Ferrer, pedestrian and boring.

Nole is the benefactor of age and time. Federer is almost six years older than him and Rafa and Roger combined for ten years of dominance. Now Rafa and Fed are battle weary and Novak has stepped up to the plate. But he will never be in the same league as these two guys because now he meets them at the end of the battles.

This could be tricky. There are some very good, unheralded players in here. There may be some upsets today, two or three.

F Lopez vs. T Gabashvili - Lopez can be iffy and hard court is his better surface
Cuevas vvs. S Groth - Groth rarely comes through and Cuevas is pretty skilled on the dirt.
Mannarino vs Melzer- Juergen is crafty, but Mannarino is pretty good, guess I'll go with Melzer, though.

What a mess at RG today I can't believe the French officials don't think they need to beef up security. That was ridiculous for the security guards to let that fan get so close to Federer. These people are acting like Gunther Parche never happened.

They need to do better. They are not looking out for the stars who put money in their pockets. Unbelievable.

I had a feeling he wouldn't, unlike most of the Spaniards, Feli is more comfortable on grass and hardcourt.
