Friday RHOA Jamaican Tea: The Party’s Over

And just like that, our housewives have completed filming the Jamaica drama. Those biting at the bit to get home could have made the 3 p.m. last flight of the day. But most of them will likely stay another night because it takes them forever to get ready to get on the plane, and because, Jamaica. There was some brief filming truck activity around Chez Parks this evening so I’m guessing she was ready to get out of there.

I’ve been asking around for information on what the hell Bob Whitfield was doing there and this is what I have found out. First, they are NOT back together. However,  with Bob back in Atlanta full time which apparently occurred a couple years ago after he finished his Stanford degree, apologies for not keeping up with all that.  It seems Bob has been off and on with some woman named Tisha since right around the time his marriage with Sheree was over.  Back in 2013, Tisha sent an email to a blogger, Sandra Rose. claiming to have the last name of Whitfield and implying they were married. They are/were not. That relationship seems to be on again off again a lot, but I’m hearing they are currently on again. Either way, Sheree and Bob are not back together.

They have been able to tolerate each other better than they did on that pitiful episode of Fix My Life though.  Mostly because he spends a lot of time with his kids. They are cordial during  the kids events.  For some reason (cough famewhore cough) Bob wants to do what he can to insure that Sheree stays on RHOA because she needs the money and he doesn’t want her coming after him. The more she makes, the less he has to pay in child support for the two youngest.  The oldest child, who Sheree denied the existence of for years until it came out on RHOA, has a different father. At any rate, Sheree reportedly has numerous liens on Chateau Sheree and the IRS is also coming for here according to various sources.  I’m not sure how Bob going to Jamaica helps her financial situation. I’m also not sure if they are going to pretend to be together on the show.
If you recall before filming began, all the RHOA were supposed to be focused on personal relationships. There was mad dash for single women Porsha, Kenya and Claudia to rope someone in quickly.  Porsha’s short lived relationship with Duke Willams blew up very quickly.    Claudia ended up leaving the franchise and her man. And Kenya has been playing the field all season. So perhaps, Sheree too needed a partner and decided it needed to be a man, roped Bob into it with some strings attached. Bob really does like hamming it up for the cameras. Remember this hysterical episode?

But there is some interesting news about Kenya. While a lot of sites thought she was seriously dating the white guy she brought to her hair launch event at the beginning of the season, she was actually accepting dates from several people at that time and looking for a match. I’m hearing that Kenya did not in fact go to Jamaica alone and brought someone with her. I have not been able to uncover who it is yet. But maybe she did find her match after all?

Finally, there is no filming scheduled for next week at all as most of the housewives have promotional work to do for the premiere a week from Sunday. This means I will probably be recapping a lot of weird talks shows and radio shows next week. Stay tuned. we may get more tea then.  As for Jamaica, I haven’t heard of anything earthshattering that occurred down there. Usually if a big story happened, someone would sell it to a major tabloid, and I haven’t seen a thing there either.
Oh I almost forgot. I got confirmation on what I already reported that Nene was the one to initiate contact with Bravo asking to return to the show after Bravo called her bluff during contract negotiations  for this season. It seems that house is not going to pay for herself. She hasn’t had a decent paycheck anywhere close to what she was offered for RHOA this season since leaving the show. There was something else about Nene but I forget what it is at them moment, and I have another show to recap now. I’ve spent way too much time on this post which really isn’t that earth shattering.
P.S. Are those really peaches on Peter’s shirt? LOL.

@ Jamaica photo... "That picture does look weird. Speaking of Nene and Porsha did you see that one article where Nene was talking about helping to bring someone up and then they turn on you? It seemed to be about Porsha, although she didn’t bring anyone's name up. She may be angry that Porsha isn’t starting any mess with Kenya. Porsha and Phaedra have served their purpose, although she’ll fake as if she likes them for the few episodes she’s on. I wonder if Porsha actually realizes that Nene isn’t feeling her."

Right?  I didn't see that article, I don't think. Who else could she have been talking about that she has brought up?  Certainly, not Cynthia. Cynthia didn't even have any relevance as an individual until she became Kenya's and Claudia's friend.  She had better not forget that. She was Nene's minion before Team pretty acknowledged her as a real person.
So, I'm guessing it was Porsha she was talking about. She was getting fired until Nene and then Phaedra needed someone to film with.

@ the petition to get rid of Raven....what is wrong with this girl?  Is she just yanking their viewers chains, intentionally being controversial? Why doesn't she just chill?  She knows she has been pissing the fans off with those ignorant statements. Yeah, I think she needs to go. She doesn't need the money. Give a more responsible sister that job. She is far too reckless with her mouth. She has no regard for her audience. Her own dad called her out the last time.

@ Cordell. Good for him. He needs to put the brakes on folks thinking they can get away with this BS.
Oddly, I feel bad for the delivert guy. He is very slow and he has been taken advantage of and he was used by these folks. Did you hear him speak about how his younger sisters had to walk him to school every day as a teen because he got beat up?  Can you imagine how humiliating that had to be for a teen male?  He never even learned how to read! 
I  glad Cordell is suing the radio show. Dirty, leaving the video up after finding out it was a big lie.
I hope he shuts them down. This delivert guy bragged about his money and I wouldn't doubt he's got some...(hush money from some of these COGIC Bishops)
He's about to have to pay up. Good too because, this lawsuit is going to flush out all the culprits. I hope Porsha's name comes out.

@ Nene:  of course she initiated that conversation. It's what we have been saying since day one. Bravo needs to stop letting this heifer spin these lies to save face.  They can stop a lot of this Bullchit and the drama that is always swirling around her.

No Kenya ain’t drinking nobody’s Kool-Aid. This is actually a brilliant move. She’s showing the audience how fake this bich is. Has Another Friends Contract Been Reinstated Between Nene and Cynthia?

Actually, I’m hearing that Nene was humbled after a season trying to make it on her own. In that time, she ate dinner on a reality show or two, did six episodes of To Tell The Truth  that have yet to air  did two guest appearances on Fashion Police, and turned up here and there on tabloid TV shows. None of those pay well and the latter doesn’t pay at all. In fact all of those appearances are things one does to increase publicity for whatever primary employment one has.
She has also allegedly tried to get a grant from the government to start a shop in Atlantic City that seems to have gone nowhere, said she was going to hold empowerment luncheons for women that don’t seem to have happened, claimed she was going on a speaking tour like AC Squared, which never panned out,  design furniture, and plenty of other things I can’t recall, none of which came to fruition. Oh and she diva(ed) her way out of a spin-off with Kim Biermann when she was the one who really needed the gig.

So with a giant empty house and a big mortgage and a dwindling shoe allowance, she made the first conciliatory move to mend her relationship with Bravo and asked to guest on one of the final episodes. She managed to get a day rate for at least two episodes of this season after two weeks of phone calls with the casting person, and is fully expected to regain her peach next season.

Check out the above photo Nene just posted on her Instagram. She is really attempting to make up with Cynthia and Kenya it would seem. She hasn’t posted any pictures in ages of anything but her ratchet fans in those ratchet T-shirts.

Before you all start with the declarations of refusing to watch next season, I should tell you that my sources indicate we might be getting “humble Nene” next season. Now before you laugh, Nene is in process of another short stint on Broadway and is already training with vocal coaches and acting coaches to prepare for her debut next month. Broadway is excruciatingly difficult with very taxing schedules of generally eight shows a week.  While Nene has already proved she has the stamina to do it, the pay is in the accomplishment and not in the almighty dollar that Nene has become accustomed to. Personal achievement and self-esteem do not pay the mortgage. And so it seems, Nene has had an epiphany and is willing to do what it takes to get that Bravo check again. Even if it means, making up with Carlos King, and Cynthia, and Kenya, and Andy, and the Bravo execs, and the crew and whoever has the potential for a peach next season. No more diva behavior, no more unreasonable salary demands.

She will be back next season if she can pull this off. 

So now the question becomes, “Can she maintain this newly manufactured personality? Or will she revert to her diva behaviors once the contract for next year is signed?” I’d be willing to reconsider my position on Nene if we got the one we see weeping on the Broadway stage humbled and grateful for her good fortune. But I’m not counting on it.

I actually like that piece but it was 90+ degrees in Jamaica. For me Porsha wins best dressed here. lol @ Kenya.  I say it's both. I figured Kenya was putting Nene on blast for being phony but, it doesn't stop me from wondering why she tried to post on Nene's timeline in the first place. She certainly wouldn't be going on her timeline to tweet a nasty message. It would have been a nice one if she were going to tweet. I figured that's why Kenya blasted her @ss. She was like yeah, don't get it twisted by all of the bullchit photos. Nene hasn't changed. Hopefully, she wasn't in Jamaica treating this heifer like her long lost sister. We know Nene won Cynthia over although Cynthia hasn't posted the photo.  But, I did see that photo earlier on Nene's IG.
Their acceptance of her will be a deciding factor on whether she gets her peach back next season. 
Hopefully, they show her groveling and sucking up to everyone and they end up not accepting her.

Tamara says she'll be willing to reconsider her position on Nene... WHAT?  She knows Nene is a snake, what is up with her?!  Tamara seems to trying to ease her way into writing positive stories about Nene. I hope someone isn't getting paid. She has alluded before (paraphrasing) that she would accept payment for positive stories and it wasn't exactly stated as a joke. Hope not.

I'll tell you what, though.  We've been dogging Nene about this already but, I cannot wait for another Nene thread to say, "The thirst is real" and to rip her apart for having to beg like a low down dirty dog. hahaha. I can't wait, I tell you!  LOL.

I don't think Kenya was fooled by Nene at any time, nor was she hurt, IMO. She was simply playing the wounded victim to show the viewers exactly how Nene is. Kenya doesn't give a d*mn about Nene and she definitely doesn't want her friendship. Ever since I've been following Kenya on Twitter I have never seen her shout out to Nene, nor does she respond to a lot of the bull that Nene puts out on Twitter, so I can't see her suddenly wanting to communicate with her.

I think she knew exactly what Nene was up to with the surprise appearance. I'm sure she expected Nene to "play nice" and be fake. Kenya is friendly with Carlos, isn't she? She probably has a lot of the deets that have been supplied to the truth blogger. Kenya will play for the cameras, but she seems to be all about what she's doing. As soon as the season wraps Kenya's off traveling and you never see her hanging with Kandi, Phaedra, Porsha, or any of them, besides Cynthia. Who knows if she even likes Cynthia? But she knows that befriending Cynthia would irk Nene to no end.

I think Kenya is very shrewd. They couldn't keep up with Kenya if they tried (intellectually).

I hear you @ Kenya. You and I may differ in opinion on that front. I do think she cares. Not to be their friends per se but I do believe she cares.  Kenya was at the very least quite embarrassed by Nene's snub. You could tell she didn't expect it for sure. She was caught off guard. Kenya is strong and tough, but just as she stated the day she finally broke with this Apollo mess, it doesn't mean she doesn't care or hurt.
I do believe she strives for at the very least, good relationships with other women due in part to the one she does not have with her own mother.  She may seem as if she doesn't care one bit but, notice how easily forgiving she is. She has a good heart yes, but Kenya doesn't want to be at odds to that degree with those girls, especially Nene. She has accepted that this is their fate and handles it like a brilliant chess player but she is always apologizing and whenever she thinks the olive branch is being extended- even by Phaedra, she leaps for it.

me to believe that Kenya sometimes thinks with her heart and not always her brain is in her relationships and decisions regarding men. Like James.
That stated, I think Kenya is part shrewd and part, a great rebounder. She thinks and lands on her feet. She hits the curve balls and gets home runs.  So, I definitely think Kenya was exposing Nene- I just wonder if she let her guard down on that vacation.  I hope not.

Interesting and great points, but I’m still on the fence. For one thing, I can’t say what I think about how Kenya may really feel because how do you delineate between what is real and what is done for the camera? How I act, react, and behave in my personal life is one thing, but if I was on TV would I bare my soul to the masses? I don’t think I would. The difference between Kenya and the others is that the others are basic, what you see is what you get. They’re unenlightened and comfortable with their circumstances, but Kenya is more of an enigma. How she is able to handle these toxic women suggests to me that she’s used to dealing with insecure and jealous women.

Everyone hurts and cares to some extent, but the question is to what degree? That situation with Apollo was treacherous and surely she had to carry the pain of an outrageous lie for almost two years, so of course the feeling of relief is to be expected. But, if you cared so much I think everything they go through would be harder to deal with, you have to disassociate from people sometimes who are in your midst, or you would go crazy.

I do believe she strives for at the very least, good relationships with other women due in part to the one she does not have with her own mother.  She may seem as if she doesn't care one bit but, notice how easily forgiving she is. I don’t know, she has a great relationship with her aunt and she often posts pics on Twitter with many of her long time girlfriends. I can’t see her caring about temporary people in her life who exhibit such low standards. I think the quality of her relationships far override the antics of these women. Look at the difference between her and Claudia. Claudia was losing it after one season; going off and being very angry about these women. She could’ve never endured what Kenya has had to put up with.

To me, that’s exactly why Kenya is so forgiving, because she doesn’t care to that extent. I find it easier to forgive those I don’t love, than those that I do. What do you care about people who are simply in your life for a season? You usually forgive them and move on, but an intimate connection is far more difficult to maneuver.

I’m not sure about that either because Tamara has stated that Kenya has been in a relationship since she’s been on the show, and Kenya herself has also stated that. I think the single and looking is just part of a storyline. I don’t think Kenya would ever have her real relationship on that toxic show and open up even more worms within an intimate relationship. I know I wouldn’t and I wouldn’t care what people thought.

I don’t think so, even if she plays that part on TV. I read a blog that she wrote once and it was masterful in its understanding of Nene and her psyche. Kenya knows who Nene is and what to expect from her. I think that’s why Nene has such a problem with Kenya; the others don’t seem capable of understanding Nene’s character (outside of Kandi), but Nene knows that Kenya knows her inside and out.

Oh, I do, because Nene showing up and hugging her proved that her actions were all an act. Remember the kind of people we’re dealing with; what do you think they will say when they see them getting along on TV? Nene came to Jamaica being nice and offering an olive branch. It makes sense to me for Kenya to set the record straight and show that it was just an act, as usual. And even Nene understood that, which is why she reposted to Kenya pretending like the blocking was a joke and there were no hard feelings, because she was busted. I don’t think Kenya being hurt had anything to do with it. In essence she made Nene eat crow, again. It is also logical that Kenya would’ve sent a nice tweet because she knew exactly what Nene’s response would be. It reminds me of the time when Nene lied and said that Kenya never said anything to her about the charity event and Kenya straight busted her by producing the email and the knowledge that it had been opened.

Also, Nene's fans will not have the luxury of believing that Nene was extending that olive branch now, will they? Kenya just took that away.

Who knows? It could go either way, but these are my thoughts.

All, great points on your end as well.  I love these types of discussions about human sociology and psychology! I love trying to figure out how people tick. I think it is why too, we are both so interested in personality tests.

I definitely think Kenya does a lot of acting. I agree @ the Apollo/Kenya situation too.  Thinking of that situation though, if those tears were real, you could gauge others by it.  You could gauge her reaction to Phaedra in Manilla when they "reconciled" their differences as well. I believe Kenya's tears were real then too and at the very least, Phaedra worked off of Kenya's emotions to get to her own. Kenya's responses to questions concerning that reconciliation were always very serious.

I've had periods in my life growing up and a more recent example of the situation with a former boss where I felt I experienced a bit of what Kenya goes through. I'll use these experiences as a gauge of sorts as well. I didn't give a chit about my boss personally.....unlike Kenya whose nemesis' were women with similar backgrounds and interest with whom she has shared some intimate thoughts and life moments, it was easier for me to disassociate myself.... STILL, it mattered how she affected my day at work and it mattered greatly what it looked like because, I knew the image of me that she was trying to fabricate was not my MO.  With those peers growing up it effected me more....  because they WERE my peers with whom I  had shared some important moments even if not friends so, it was a great portion of what made up the activities of my daily life. Thank goodness for strong family unit. 
So, I think about Kenya where this is magnified x1000. As if all of this BS happening before all of her loved ones as well as the rest of the world isn't bad enough, it is all consuming for the time they are filming and airing because she has to relive it as well as deal with more backlash. It is not as simple as a friend with whom she can shut down and not meet for brunch or not answer calls when it becomes too much or like a boss you step away from at the end of the day. The media and/or the other person is always discussing you and you are either living it or RE-living as well as addressing it with other sometimes very judgmental people. The implications and results of those encounters on the show extend to her professional AND personal life.  It's not just a season - this is all year aside from maybe a month.   In this case I  can imagine you pretty much kind of soldier through something like that if you're strong - like an illness.  It is all you can do but, if Kenya didn't care, we wouldn't see and hear her many messages of inspiration and self empowerment on her timeline -more than any other housewife or person I know.  These messages are for herself and I'm sure she looks for and reads much more of this stuff than she posts. I believe she cares and it effects her for sure.  Remember, Kenya is acting for the most part but, the hate targeted at her is very real. They want to hurt her for real. You can't be human, especially one with a good heart and not be effected greatly by that. It is why she has to leave and regroup, re-energize and purge herself at the end of the season of this mess or she would lose it. Even her scenes with her Aunt Lori are always about how to handle the girls and getting reinforcement.  She would prefer to get along with those ladies, imo.  I think her great relationships outside of TV that we always point out, underscore that. Unlike a Nene who doesn't care, as her relationships with those in her real life are either totally controlled by her or in tatters. Kenya cares about others and the relationship, even if platonic- Nene cares about herself.  Disclaimer, lol - Porsha is not on Kenya's radar  because she is a simpleton....the rest, especially Nene, Kandi and Cynthia- she cares/d.

When Kenya was asked about Nene in interviews - for the longest time she repeatedly said, "I love Nene, she just doesn't love me, I don't  understand why." She would chuckle about it sometimes but, there was no flippant eye roll, signature wicked laugh, no shade thrown behind it and Nene has been the ONLY woman she has ever said this about-even while she was being mistreated by her.  For a long time Kenya was only on the defense with Nene (blocking the blows) because she always hoped they would come to better terms. She came to her senses totally after Marlo still, I believe she would jump at the chance to be on better terms with Nene even now.  I believe her when she says she feel they share a bond over their feelings of abandonment.    I also believe her in the same speech when she explained that she never meant to come for her spot.  Even then she was appealing to her.   I see Kenya's chess plays as ones made out of necessity.  She has wicked humor but she doesn't want to be the girls enemy. She is capable of standing alone but, she doesn't want to. 
I totally get what she means by her declaration of being a girls, girl. It's not just about being supportive of other women. Unlike some woman, who claim to be mistreated by other women and so prefer the company of other men, Kenya loves being in the company of beautiful, but more importantly, empowered women who are running things, laughing and having a good time. That is when she is in her element. It is the first connection she thought she had in common with Nene.  It is why all of their mistreatment of her angers me so.
 Where Kenya runs into trouble is that her confidence borders on cocky. There's nothing wrong with that, because If you're confident women - a woman like that gets a high five from you. But, if your self esteem is low she's going to put a few more dents in it.  It was one thing for them to THINK she was beautiful when she came on the scene as long as no one put it "out there."   They could almost deal with that - they were more concerned about snagging her on their teams initially but, now she's owning it.....highlighting it - have the nerve to speak on it and put it out in the universe and she's smart too?  This, forces women with low self esteem to acknowledge they don't measure up every single time they see her or hear her name. To her credit Kenya is very affirming of other women but, it is why they all have problems with her.  Kenya does not dim her light to make them feel better.

I agree with you in general about forgiveness but, imo, it's also about the extent of the injury inflicted that determines how much it matters to you not just the relationship you have with the offender. Someone in your circle- personal or professional maligning your reputation is pretty huge. Someone actively working at getting you fired is pretty huge. Especially, when it is shoved in your face 24/7.
Those people who tried to make my life miserable because of their insecurities didn't mean anything to me still, because of what they did - it took a lot to forgive them. Some, I am still working on.

I totally agree with this. I totally believe it is why she posted it.
In my original comment I stated both reasons but, as I thought about it I thought it may be some combination of both.
 
Also, I do agree that Claudia is not as strong as Kenya. Claudia was crying by her 4th episode. Lol, It took Kenya 3 seasons to break even a little bit.  That stated, I do believe they both can be gullible to a point.
Think about it....Kenya and Claudia totally fell for Nene's act at the reunion and came back after the taping ecstatic about Nene's "breakthrough" and we called that bullchit before we even saw it. Lol.
