Here is another movie lady j, I think you would enjoy"THE INN OV THE SIXTH HAPPINESS" it was about a youg women who wanted to do missionary work in china. GLADYS ALDERS was her named and she was played by INGRID BERGMAN she was a white women well known in china for saving over 100 orphans and taking them to a safe town in china during the Japanese  invasion pre world War II she was also known to be the first American welcome as a gov assistant in china, helping to get women to unbind their feet. Also helping in controlling a prison riot., and break out. This is a very well directed  and detailed movie I believe you will enjoy it as a tearjerker and romance movie. It was one ov my mothers favorite movies,she wore out 5 VHS tapes watching it. Enjoy my friends

Wow, lady V! What an inspirational story, and legacy, Gladys left behind. I will definitely be putting this movie on my list. I love these type of historical movies where the main character made such a huge impact on humanity and helped to shape the changes for the future of a population.
