Oh gosh, this is so tough. There have been so many excellent players on hard courts over the years.
Certainly the players General Hercules has listed belong near the top, especially in recent times.
But I would have to include Jimmy Connors, Rod Laver, Richard "Pancho" Gonzales, John McEnroe, Andre Agassi, Stefan Edberg. The two Andys, Roddick and Murray are not far from those, and with Murray still active, he could still rise to that level.
Respectfully,
masterclass
absolutely no question about it general masterclass.
lendl made 8 straight finals at the u.s. open. he lost most of them but still that is a lot of match wins on the hard courts on the biggest stage.
johnny mac was a monster on the hard courts: both outdoor and indoor.
Edberg was also as tough as they come on the hard courts.
I would have to agree: we have to list Connors, Agassi, laver, and gonzalez too.
what about roy emerson?
