here is the order of play:
huge day at Wimbledon tomorrow:
http://www.wimbledon.com/en_GB/scores/schedule/index.html Can't wait for today's matches, especially Djokovic/Dimitrov. That could be quite a thriller. I'm pulling for the talented young Bulgarian, but have a feeling Novak will prevail. I also hope Roger beats Raonic, and think he will.

I would love to see the 2007 AO Gonzalez/Haas semifinal. Do you have that?

Federer vs Tsonga is the night match.
action is heating up.
fasten your seat belts.
I can't wait for Fed/Tsonga! Could be a great one. I'm hoping Roger wins, because I want to see a Federer/Murray semi. Loving your site, CD. Looks great.

Hello everyone! I've been taking a break from message boards (I've barely even contributed to Tennis Frontier the last few weeks ), so I haven't been around lately, but it's nice to be back. The site is looking really good, CD. I like the GS countdown clocks at the top. Maybe put one up for each Masters? One at a time, though, instead of putting all of them up at once. I watched Rafa play Tsonga the other day. He looked OK. Nothing great, but nothing awful, either. But, hey, it's an exhibition, right? I am anxious for the AO to begin. Anyone think Djokovic will win it an unprecedented fourth time in a row? Or will Rafa grab it? (I hope!) I don't think Murray will be in the necessary shape to win a Slam after being off for so long, but never say never. If not Djokovic or Rafa, it could be Del Potro's chance to win a second slam. (I suspect Roger is through, and will cap off his career at 17, so I won't include him in an official prediction.) Also, a Happy New Year to all here at Camelot!

It's a very top heavy era no doubt. Andy will be the underdog because of his back injury. The bookies will probably tip Nole to win as usual. Andy was denied 3 times here. He'll convert it one time, that is, if he successfully makes the final.
I think (and hope!) he'll win it one day, too, but 2014 almost certainly won't be it. Never say never, of course, but it will be too soon after his return to win seven best-of-five set matches, over two weeks. I would consider his getting to the Round of 16 to be a great success, and nothing to be embarrassed about. If he stays healthy, though, look out 2015! If he wins Wimbledon again in 2014, then gets the USO again, he'll be motivated like mad to keep it up, and get Australia. As for 2014, I'm hoping it's Rafa, yet suspect it will be Novak. Again.

Found out Rafas eco schedule for november:
12th – 16th Nov. Necker Cup Pro-Am, British Virgin Islands 17th Nov. Jockey Club, Lima, Peru, vs David Ferrer 20th Nov. Movistar Arena, Santiago, Chile, vs Novak Djokovic 21st Nov. Orfeo Superdomo, Cordoba, Argentina, vs David Nalbandian 23rd Nov. La Rural, Buenos Aires, Argentina, vs David Nalbandian 24th Nov. La Rural, Buenos Aires, Argentina, vs Novak Djokovic
Rafa Novak playing twice! Hope they have some fun! South America has become the place to be this time of year, I guess. Last year it was Federer, this year it's Rafa and Novak. I bet Murray goes next year. He and Rafa playing exhibitions would be awesome.

IW is the perfect hard court for Rafas game. I expect him to win again there 2014. Just hope he can get home to spain and rest a bit before he starts practicing for next season. He has had quite a bit of success there, so I think you're right. The time of the year also helps. If IW were in, say, October I'm not as sure he would have won it several times.
Like you, I also hope he gets it again in 2014.
What is it about Rafa and fall season? I understand indoors is not his thing. But still. That WTF final he didn't try like previous tournaments. Looked like he almost gave up before the match. Novak didn't play god like either, Rafa could have beaten him. Low bouncing courts maybe..but still. The cross court bh he used in US soil was gone after USO. Is it a mental thing? Or just the courts? I was at the wtf and Novak seemed more tired than Rafa.
All excellent questions, and I wish I had the answers. Rafa has consistently had poor (by his standards) results indoors, and my interpretation is that it's a combination of time of year, and low-bouncing surface. He can't get the pop on the ball, like he gets on clay, and other hard courts.

lets start a list of rising stars of tomorrow. I will fire off the first shot and then we will keep adding to it as we discuss them along the way. Pablo Carreno Busta From the ATP site: "Named Most Improved Player of the Year in November 2013…The Spaniard climbed from a year-end No. 715 Emirates ATP Ranking last season to a career-high No. 66 in 2013, beginning with an impressive effort on the Futures circuit that saw him win 35 straight matches and seven titles from eight finals. As a qualifier on the ATP World Tour, he recorded his first tour-level win in Casablanca, reached the Oeiras SFs and made his Grand Slam debut at Roland Garros. The 22 year old also excelled on the ATP Challenger Tour, going 4-0 in finals…"

what about Wimbledon general shanks?
how far can he go there?
maybe he could get to the semis if he avoids nadal.....
Djokovic and Murray are also potential threats at this point, too.

What's interesting is what Federer will do next year. Murray will be back, Nadal and Novak will be hungry, and del Potro and Berdych will surely want to build on this year's results.
Fed did come on stronger in the last few tournaments, but where does he go from here?
Excellent questions. I've been wondering about Murray coming back, and how it will impact the field. It could get exciting by the summer. I don't expect much out of him at the Australian Open, simply because he will not have been back long enough to take down the top guys. Indian Wells and Miami will tell us more, I think. As for Federer, after an awful 2013 (by his standards, of course, i.e., winning only 1 title), 2014 can only be better, don't you think? Well, I hope so anyway. I think he'll regroup and refocus during the next month and a half, and come back ready in January.
