Addictions are the true connotation of

Searching outside of ourselves
To gain confidence
For a convoluted form of love
Basal intention of looking for love
Complex with all of these attachments
Abuse is a form of withdrawal
Veiled exploration with self inflicted
Drug abuse
To numb the emotions
Highly sensitives are always
Attacked and judged
They are so sensitive that
Alcohol or drugs are attached to them
Like another appendage
Not wanting to feel
Shutting down senses
Yet open to pieces of what seems like reality
Seeping in through the cracks
Drowning in self inflicted depravation
Yet they smile to the world
Sadly the insanity ensues
Breaking the addiction
5 days, 4 weeks, 3 months
Something happens that is beyond their control
Snap back like a rubber band
Back in the fold to what appears
Those people who "understand "
Help you with your crutch
For another 8 ball or a bottle of vodka
The smile is painted on your face
But your eyes are dead
If people close bothered to look
Really look
Show after show
Performances made for us to laugh
While his heart and soul collapsed
Take the time to connect with loved ones
No matter what the emotions erupt
If we reach out before they take
The last dime bag
The prescription pills
That rope that they hung themselves
Their cry for help varies
Each and every time
Their act of being in control
Is their biggest vice
Takes nothing
Costs us all nothing
To simply be nice
