Mind shattering how the dark
Ebbs in
Seeps in
Creeps in
Wants centre stage
Makes a rumble for attention
Needing to create havoc
In the otherwise seemingly
Semblance of light celebration
It rears it’s ugly head
Demanding to disrupt
What appears balanced
Is actually rough

Darkness does not wait
Is rather impatient
Descends regardless of expectations
Psst but here is the secret
It has always been present
Just refused to acknowledge
Chose to look away
