My positive side
When I’m empathically absorbing
The energies of people
Who feel other than good
The energies take hold of all the joy
Squeeze it out
Wring all the positive out
Stumps on it
Destroys it
Until it’s hard to discern
The fine line
Of what I’m really feeling
Or what I’ve been absorbing

That has happened
Seems to be the case
On Twitter
Feeling all the energy that is
Far from positive
The need to say good bye
Is strong
And inevitable

A break is necessary
