Every glib word, every snide remark
Leaving an indelible scar
A visual bruise
Tattooed mark
That travels far deeper
Than the superficial of the epidermal stamp
Like an arrow that hits the bull's eye
Straight dab in the centre
Deeper still
That ethereal scar of the soul
They say it's a karmic knot
I don't care
What they say
The scar has left a mark
