Again
Strangely, the tears I’ve shed
We’re few compared to those before you
What a strange path we’ve led
Your words of love sang true
When written
But when we embraced
There was a different look on your face
The feelings weren’t clear, they were blue
It’s broken
Words mean little if not acted upon
Keeping the thread abreast
Allows you to sleep deeply
When you finally take your rest
Conundrum is the twist of the knife
That pierced my heart
Both front and back
The smiles of your mask hid your intentions
I chose not to see the attacks
Tossed away my apprehensions
Now here we are
Back to texting from a far
And the movie in my head is playing near
All our greatest hits and misses
I was broken
And writing these words have healed
The few tears that escaped, cleared
The cobwebs and the Judas kisses
