Fatigue sets in as the full moon
Shows it's vibrant face
In all it's glory
Looking up at the sky
It makes me swoon
Alas that truly is another story
Tonight I'm looking for that special place
Lounging back staring at the stars twinkling
Needing these silent moments
Can't bring myself to cry
Cacophonous screams are reeling
Natures quiet at other times soothing
Tonight I find disturbing
Running my fingers across my lips
Lingering
As I feel the softness
Pressing against them a little more
Needing to suppress
This need to scream
Tear me away from the nightmare
To a glorious dream
Extracting a Cuban cigar
Exploring its delicate smoothness
Enjoying its fragrant blend
Distracted me enough to pull me away
From my worrisome thoughts
Can't stand the deafening silence
Echoing loudly in my ears
Realizing what I fought
Was the clutching deadening
Fingers of fear
Quiet moments
