Struggling in the act of breathing
Confusion all around
Medical staff assessing
Verbal diatribe is not so coherent
Distressing is all I've found
Cloudiness enshrouds your eyes
Fear has its hold on you
Inhale is painful
Exhale at times restful
Squeezing my hand
Strength behind the tear
Keep reminding for the short time
We are here
Looking death in the eyes
Makes us realize
There is nothing to fear
