Strange occurrences
Have left unusual disturbances
Feelings come to the fore
Emotions run the gamut
Volatile slinging words of pain
Nowhere near the words of love
As expressed before
Mixed reactions from varied opinions
Adding to the strain
Empathically I’m in need
To keep my distance
For the fear of rejection
Is stark and plain
They have many options
Lost is their reality
Dismayed by the lack of affections

This great desire
Overwhelming need to heal
Is confusing
For deep down I’m aware
It’s lessons are strong and real
As I was the words flung
In the heat of the fire
Hateful sayings
Shaking my head
As I continue to stare
