I was like that until I rediscovered meditation & looked into the suggestions that I should explore mindfulness & hygge. Mindfulness & meditation are wonderful. They're ways of experiencing, enjoying & concentrating on the here & now & 1 thing at a time instead of being lost in thought. Our minds like looking at the past & future as they like to compare, analyse & evaluate things but can't do that in the present so turn the memory on or project into the future. By being in the here & now we can enjoy things more & get rid of mental chatter by enjoying the here & now & concentrating on every little thing no matter how small. In fact the 1st meditation you normally do is closing your eyes for 1/4-1/2 an hour & just concentrating on your breath. You also learn to just concentrate on thoughts & feelings & watch them, see them for what they are & allow & accept them without getting lost in them & allowing them to take over. Visualisation & music meditation is very good. Our minds also like goals to work towards & learning new things. The reason why we enjoy learning new things is that we pay close attention to what we're learning & do 1 thing at once & have no room for mental chatter as well as the fact our minds like goals. Our minds also like intellectualising everything. Hygge is a Danish concept which involves getting wrapped up with a book & cup of tea or hot chocolate among other things.
