Protectively chirping requesting food for her newborns
Standing guard 4 male pigeons
Keeping watch for any predators
Be it in human form or another furry member
Found the broken egg shells on the concrete floor of my porch
Looking up to see the Mom sitting on them
Staring at me intently
Replaced their water bowl
Proffered seeds and bread
I swear I felt her smile
I swear I felt her at ease
