What about the strife and pain
It’s happening again
The hate and bullets that stray
Into a child’s back
These ugly unforgiving attacks
Laundering of monies globally
Governments spend thriftily, while natives die
Opiates, fentanyl deaths are on the rise
Smiles and nods hide their lies
Opulent lifestyle for the chosen few
While we suffocate and pay taxes upon taxes
Keep the wolves at bay
As though on cue
Another tax for the rain that comes through the skies
The core is insipid and creating destruction
In the blatant and slow path of construction
They claim it’s true
When it’s all fake
What do we believe
When twisted words are now being thrown in jail
Those who r*pe kill and m*rder
Escape jail, with a slap on the wrist
Hopeless fail
We act strong; we’re frail
