The wondrous miracles of our creator
Where bodies of water differ
Lapping next to each
Without intertwining
Divided yet similar mass
Definitely on my list
To visit several wonders
Of this spectacular Earth

Recalling our friendship of many years
Much more than ten
It's more like twenty
Remembering our innocence
Believing our wise elders
Would speak truth
Betrayal of false illusions
Marked changes happened often
Couldn't let things develop perchance
Much is hidden behind
Painted smiles
Greed begets greed
In fashionable style
Once we became competition
Watching our star succeed
Malice hit us for miles
Sadly it pulled us apart
Days turned to months
It lasted two years
I crawled back for forgiveness
For you've a special segment
Of my heart
We formed a sistership
On that fateful cruise ship
Matters not in times of lost hope
Evolution began
Cathartically cleansing
Eons of karma
The Blush of youth
Replaced with many mistakes
Chalking it up to experience
Ultimately our Dharma
Where our paths may seem
At a distance
It's closer than we both thought
The past is behind us
It's the pleasure
Of your company
Wiser still full of laughter
Comraderie of you

It's a slight buzzing
In my ear
Either one or the other
At first it sounds high pitched
I've learned to say
Please slow down
I can't decipher what you're
Trying to communicate

All of a sudden
It's barely a whisper
But I can make out what they
Are conveying

Eureka
I love it
When they speak
I listen
Deep down
They express what my heart
Has been saying for a long time
Simplistic
Beautiful
Free

It was a long time ago
When she made contact with
This ethereal girl
They were the same age
Of different realms
Their sistership was inseparable
Communication was open
All they had to do was reach out
It had to be a secret
One that only they knew about
Because the world as we know it
Would institutionalize the one
In this realm

They never understood

The girls understood
To this day
They make it work
Any way

Promises were made during moments of delight
Hearts were elated
Things seem to transform overnight
The dominant one subjugated
Disastrous effects though the other
Loved to be loved
Willing to serve
But not be subservient
Much too many examples
To be subjected as an object

It was the controlling factor
That destroyed remnants of love
Memories of youth
Played like movies in her head
Having witnessed relationships
Where the women seemed
Like the living dead
She swore it's the life
She would never tread
Waking away for many was unheard of
Through gossip created much dread
She learned to stop listening
Learn the basics
Basic love
