I always knew this day would eventually come
They day  I'd want to say these words to you
It's with these words held in my heart
 I now feel I need to renew
Thinking about what I want to say
 waiting for when the time was right
Saying exactly what's on my mind
While in my mind you're sitting here with me tonight

I get caught up in my own little world
At times I tend to forget
The true essence  of those little words
Which entered  the day we first met
If you would move just a little bit closer
I can describe the moment when this all began
When I knew you'd be my special lady
The lady at the lake

It was an evening like no other a time I held you close
we listened to the falling rain
Sitting beside a warm flickering fire
Sharing dreams with a glass of champagne
I never could have imagined
I'd be spending an evening like that with you
we talked between the falling raindrops
expressing points of view

my arms wrapped tightly around you
I thought about how hard it would be to let you go
Then suddenly you turned around and kissed me
then at that moment did I really know
Falling in love on that special night with the lady at the lake
I couldn't find the words to say
you were the only one in my life for sure
Who has ever made me feel this way
I looked deep into your eyes
then I took you by the  hand
I knew that all I ever needed
Was to love to hold you all that I can
You became a part of my little world lady at the lake
Knowing  I could never let you go
 Loving you meant so much to me
More than you could possibly ever know lady at the lake
I need to say how much I  care
Your the only one I ever wished for
Was that you would always be there
You will always be my special lady at the lake
loving you so tenderly
I'd be lost in my little world if it not be for you
To share this love and your touch lady at the lake

you by my side  a fire to keep us warm
always welcome the falling rain
 holding each other and never letting go
falling in love all over again with my lady by the lake

The words I say still mean the same
After all this time with you
the best part of all was knowing
That my very special lady by the lake still loves me to this day
