If it takes 5 machines 5 minutes to make 5 widgets, how long would it take 100 machines to make 100 widgets?

 

Never been good at brain teasers. Hate taking the time to think about it. Why does it take 5 minutes instead of one minute? Don't they make one widget a minute?  .

It takes one machine 5 minutes to make a widget.

If you have five machines lined up and they start at the same time then they are making a widget each in those five minutes.  5 widgets in total are made.

if you have hundred machines lined up and they start at the same time then are making a widget each in those five minutes. 100 widgets in total.

... but all in five minutes.

Dang it! That just required a little thought. That's what I get for being mentally lazy.
