His mental strength is simply at a higher level now, and among others like his coach and friends, ironically, Novak helped him get there...

tough call with this one. who really knows how this is going to play out.

stan could be slightly sluggish given the mental and physical toll he took in derailing an all time great.

it is not easy to beat nole at a hard court slam. it takes a lot out of you.


I did notice something about berdych in his last match:

(1) he really does not have optimal movement. he misses all too often if you can get him on the run and stretch him.
(2) his shot selection. he is impatient at times and goes for the wrong shot. so I question his court intelligence.



Spartan Stan, on the other hand, does move quite well. and Stan is a thinking man. he was looking for solutions against Nole and found them.

berdych has the tendency to get a little shaken out there.



so lets see how it plays out. I give the slight edge to Spartan Stan. he is a little better going forward as well. he is quite confident at the net.
