there should be absolutely no question that Stan was fully prepared and played superb tennis.


but this is where you take your game to the highest level and meet that challenge head on.


in my estimation rafa did quite the opposite. he had problems returning serve and he problems taking care of his own serve. this left Stan without much pressure.  he was free to swing for the fences.

all the pressure was kept on nadal's side of the net.


nadal would have obviously fought better without the back issue but he still had a battle on his hand.


it is very tough to win if you are having problems returning and serving.
