interesting developments general masterclass.
keep them coming.
do you think Spain can defeat Germany without ferru and rafa?
Perhaps General. The German team is carrying some injuries from what I recall (Haas - shoulder forced to retire at AO 1st round, Kohlschreiber - left hamstring - retired prior to 1st round at the AO). I don't know if they are healthy enough to put out 100%. Florian Mayer is I think in good shape and form as he made it to the 4th round at the AO - defeated by Ferrer.
If they are ok, I think it will be tough for Spain on the German indoor hard courts. But both Lopez and Verdasco are pretty good on hard courts, so we can't dismiss them. Tommy Haas is scheduled to play doubles with Brands vs. Verdasco/Marrero. That might end up being the key match.
Bautista-Agut plays Kohlschreiber in the 1st tie for the first time in their lives. Bautista-Agut made it to the 4th round, taking down Del Potro along the way. So he is in good form. I think Kohlschreiber can beat him if healthy though, if he uses his good one handed backhand to avoid Bautista-Agut's strong forehand.
Florian Mayer plays Feli Lopez. Should be an interesting battle. Maybe it goes 5 sets. Pick 'em.
Respectfully,
